Why Smangus had been called dark black tribe long long time ago？That is because Smangus is the most remote tribe in all tribe, also the lastest tribe that had electricity.

During those days without electricity, residents could only use Taiwan Red Pine oil or Taiwan White Pine oil for lighting. They kept using kerosene until 1979, when electricity was finally introduced.

Before Smangus had electricity, people there needed to get up early and sleep early. They would only light up lights for dinner around 6PM to 8PM and 9PM was the latest time that they got to bed.

Until now, there has light, but they still get up early, sleep early, but they use LED light or lights that save electric.
