Hualien is endowed with a exceptional gift of natural beauty. A lot of artists seek creative inspiration in this place, even to the point of permanently staying here. In addition, Hualien is the homeland of stones, and besides establishing a stone sculptural museum, the government also holds stone sculpture festival activities every year to show the many colorful faces of stones to the world.
　To coordinate with this semester’s Arts and Humanities curriculum, the students learn and get to experience something different, from understanding the distinctive features of our local community to actual creative action.
