Chen Jinxin

 

Recalling the Past

On April 14th in 1997, Chen Jinxing and two other suspects, Lin Chuensheng and Gao Tianmin kidnapped entertainer Bai Bingbing’s daughter, Bai Xiaoyan and demanded her to pay ransom.  Bai Xiaoyan’s corpse was founded on April 28th. On June 6th, they kidnapped Taipei County Councilor Tsai Mingtang and businessman Chen in Beitou on August 8th. 

On August 19th, Chen Jinxing and other two people aroused gunfight with police officers.  Lin Chuensheng was hit and died in the fight.  Police officer Tsao Limin was killed on his duty.  On October 23rd, Chen Jinxing and Gao Tianmin killed the plastic surgeon Fang Baofang and his wife at their clinic, then raped and killed the nurse Zhen Wenyu.  Gao Tainmin committed suicide while being rounded up on November 17th. 

November 18th 1997, Chen Jinxing kidnapped the family of South Africa Ambassador McGill Alexander, and confronted with the police at the ambassador residence.  He finally surrendered and got caught after negotiating with the Chief Police Hou Youyi.  Politician Xie Chanting also participated in the negotiation. 

Having carefully inspected, Chen Jinxing raped about 20 females during his escape.  January 23rd 1998, Chen Jinxing was sentenced five death penalties and two life imprisonments by Banqiao District Court.  He was shot at the age 41 on October 6th 1999. 

 

Counseling Process

Minister Huang recalled, “When the warden called me, I was still in Philippines.  He wanted me to come back and counsel him, and I promised him I would.” 

After Minister Huang came back, he immediately went to the prison to counsel Chen Jinxing.  At the beginning, he gave him the book “Streams in the Desert”, but he didn’t even look at it.  His always kept the poker face, but at the end he believed in Jesus Christ by feeling God’s calling in the prison. 

Thoughts on the Counseling

Everyone has love.  If you are willing to give, you will gain more.  If love is from God, it will be much more.  I’ve believed in God for more than 20 years, and I’ve never said that I wouldn’t go to church.  Some people persuaded me not to go to prisons because they would never repent in their whole life.  If two out of 100 persons listen to me and repent, I will be thrilled! 

You have to be patient when counseling.  If there is no feedback today and tomorrow, never give up!  One day, you will certainly get the feedback.  Just like planting seeds, it needs time to grow.  I believe my job is to save people and influence them by religion.  They are monsters in others’ eyes, but they have the same opportunities to repent in the presence of God.
