Chih, Jen, and Yong cell blocks are taken from the three virtues of Wisdom, Benevolence, and Bravery; these are ideal goals of ethical education. Wisdom has the meaning of cautiousness in virtue, benevolence has the meaning of public weal, and finally bravery has the meaning of perseverance. It is possible that there were differences in numbers of people; most were in Chih, then followed by Jen, and fewest people lived in the Yong cell block.
