The cells for women are not very numerous, because there were not many female inmates; at most, in 1937, there were only 22 female inmates. Cells for women and children are all mixed and not solitary rooms. Currently, female inmates of Taiwan are all congregated in three prisons in Taoyuan, Taichung, and Kaohsiung.
