Interview Journals of the Visit in Hsinchu (I)
Time:2007/12/16  9:30-14:30
Place:Hsinchu Station of THSR &Taiwan Railways
Interviewer:Chang Ming Yang

We took High Speed Rail on Sunday.  We took a lot of photos and keep records.  We experienced a lot of fun things.  I was very curios with everything when I rode on the train.  I was seeking for new things and take photos of them.  I found the automatic door, and I caught that with my camera.  After thirty minutes, I took many photos.  The rotating chairs, vending machines, toilets and so on.  I was not satisfied.  I decided to go along with the interview group to see if there is anything that I can shoot down.  As I expected, I noticed the outward and the inward of Hsinchu station, including the ticket machine, guests chairs, convenience stores and so on.

Teacher took us to the Taiwan Railway.  She wanted us to make comparisons between Taiwan High Speed Rail and Taiwan Railway.  Why do some people take Taiwan Railway instead of High Speed Rail?  I was a little shy to have an interview with the ones I didn’t know.  But I encouraged myself to try.  Wan Yun helped me keep records.  Teacher reminds me to be polite.  We had to get the subjects permission.  Sometimes I got stuttered and some passengers refused to have an interview.  Anyway, I complete my assignment finally.

On the way to home, something bumped up in my mind.  “I want to take a picture of the front of the train!”  I took my camera immediately and have a perfect ending.  I kept being happy until I got home.

The activities enable me to understand more about High Speed Railway.  If I have a chance, I would like to take THSR again, design an interview sheet again and have another interview.  As long as I try my best, I’ll succeed someday in the future.

We have visited the THSRC Hsin chu station on Sunday with the assistance of our teacher.  We have interviewed a lot of people, including the staff of THSRC, passengers and store clerks. We have also visited the Taiwan Railway Hsinchu station.
I think the most difficult part of our assignment lies in building up our courage to face strange matters and people. We interviewed more than ten people in one day. They are all strangers to us. Some people are very friendly and answering our questions in details. Others might not be as polite and just go away without saying anything. Fortunately most people are very polite in assisting us finishing the interviews.

In this assignment, Andy Wu and I worked as one group. We have come across some setbacks, but managed to overcome these difficulties. I think this is the most valuable lesson we learn from this assignment. We must try to overcome whatever difficulties on our own and make ourselves become stronger along the way.
