• Comprehensive reading and writing abilities: In editing the text for use on the website, we have gradually developed the skills to independently write a complete explanatory note.
• We were told to be patient and listen carefully to what the experts said in the interviews; we were also told to learn how to clearly express our ideas verbally and to formulate questions based on facts.
Social studies
People and time-space: After data collection and onsite inspections, we understand more about the geography and natural environment of our schools, and we love our school and community more.
Integrated skills
From this project, we have learned the importance of preparation, sharing of information and respect for other’s opinions. Also, we also aggressively participated in different activities and experienced life outside of school. Most importantly, we must develop our sense of responsibility.
Natural science
We observed the environment around our school, learned the process of garbage disposal, and participated in environmental monitoring. We discovered that some lab techniques we learned from class, such as measuring water temperature, pH test and conductivity test, may be applied to real-life monitoring of river water and groundwater.
