Promoting reading in school

Preparation

After interviewing the story-telling mothers in A-fu’s Bookstore and   Chungyi  Elementary School, we planned to promote reading in our own school. We hope the reading volunteers of each class could form a reading volunteer group to tell stories in the long term. First we try to get a better understanding of the background and spare time of the volunteers, difficulties they are faced with and the skills they want to improve by questionnaires.

Reading volunteer meeting
Reporter: Jie Lan
we held a meeting for reading volunteers on Tuesday.
I and another team member demonstrated our reading-promotion plan by Powerpoint, then played a film about A-fu. Finally the reading volunteers exchanged their experience.

Reporter: Hsuan-hao Hsu
To our great joy, the volunteers were very anxious in the meeting. Our team members, Jie Lan, Yi-long Chen, introduced our reading-promotion plan to them. Then Yan-cui’s mother shared her experience of promoting reading in   Chungyi  Elementary School. I hope these warm-hearted mothers would make efforts to promote reading in our school.

My ideas

It was a successful meeting. The volunteers were very anxious and promised to do their best to promote reading in   Lujiang  Elementary School. Several mothers proposed to establish a reading-volunteer group. We were very happy to see our work rewarding.
