today we had the first preparatory meeting for our visit to A-fu’s Bookstore. The teachers asked the following questions for us to consider:
1.What do you want to pay attention to on the visit?
2. What kind of questions you want to ask A-fu?
3. Have you divided your tasks?
We got to work out the three questions.

Record:
It was the meeting before our second visit to A-fu’s Bookstore. We have discussed the following issues:
1. What do you want to pay attention to on the visit?
We should behave politely, looking into others’ eyes when he/she speaks, don’t mess with others’ articles, and make careful record of the interviews. The most important thing is to behave ourselves to leave a good impression.
2. What kind of questions you want to ask A-fu?
1. Why do you open the bookstore?
2. Why do you only sell children’s books?
3. How many Book Clubs in your bookstore?
4. How much do you earn from the bookstore each month?
3. Our tasks are divided as:
1.Activity team: carry out and coordinate the activities
2. Recording team: record the activity
3. art team: Make a thank-you note to A-fu

Process

Process of the visit:
It was my task to record the activity. We gathered at the gate of the school and Uncle Zhao drove us to A-fu’ bookstore, which was only ten minutes’ drive away.
The bookstore impressed us with its small area and large collection of books. A-fu and his wife greeted us at the door.
We started our interview in a small room. A-fu talked about his poor childhood. He had to work hard to earning his living and gave up his education accordingly. It was not until he joined the army that he started his education again. After being discharged, he took every chance to further his education. In order to retain his friend in Luchou, he decided to open a bookstore and organized his own Book Club. He held on to his dream despite the bookstore was losing. Gradually he trained a few story-telling mothers and the book club became successful, attracting many media to make reports on A-fu’s bookstore.
After three hours’ visit, we left the bookstore.

Comments:
I learnt a lot in the interview. Despite the hardship, A-fu grew up to be an integrated and grateful man. He knew the pain of being illiterate, so he opened a bookstore for the children. His selflessness is really touching. Like our teachers, A-fu encouraged us to reading more books. He also told us the benefits of reading. I think I will live up to their expectation and do my best to read.
