Birds Singing, Bugs Chirping, the Beauty of the Surprising Tavokan...

III. Dancing with Rejoice in the Forest

1. How It Gets Started

Sin-hua, known as "Tavokan" in history, means "mountainous landscape" in Siraya. In the year 2000, the Kou-pi Church maintained its consistent affection toward the surroundings, emphasizing on the experiencing and recording of the ecology, using "Dancing with Rejoice in the Forest" as the theme to express the peaceful, intimate, and inseparable interrelationship between humanity and the land, and hoping to guide the general public to think about the environmental issues.

2. Significance of the Totem

The colorful tone of the post is used to express the happiness from the bottom of the heart and the intimate relationship between people and Nature. The plural form of the people and a big tree symbolize the extension of lives granted by the land and its people. The "tree," like a new harbor and shelter, breeds many forest romances on earth. The mutual law of living for all tribes in the nature has been respect, love, and dedication.

3. The Activity

For years, the association's activities have been related to people's daily life to stress its concern for the homeland. From August 17th to December 23rd in 2001, the association held a series of "Siraya Culture and Bamboo Festival" in the Sin-hua Library, including the photography contest of the local natural environment and ecology; the camp of the observation and experience of the nature and ecology; the photography exhibition of the nature and ecology; singing praises for the mountainous landscape; the campaign for cleaning mountains and water and righting the name for the homeland; the show and exhibition of "Dancing with Rejoice in the Forest."
