The index of a convenient city relies on its public bus service. The efficiency of public buses influences the life style of Kaohsiung citizens. In this section, we will analyze the influence of Kaohsiung City Bus on the development of SSD.

There are several bus routes going through the center of SSD. The location of each bus stop in SSD is carefully chosen to cater for different needs of consumers from all over Kaohsiung.

Kaohsiung City Bus fare remains relatively low with government subsidy. However, the passenger numbers is shrinking annually. Making a profit from running city buses had been a problem for the city government, because of the cost of personnel management and maintenance of facilities.
