In the ancient agricultural society, buffalo stood for the diligence and hardworking spirit of Taiwanese. The unique fortitude of Taiwanese buffalo is the idea and spirit symbol of Dahesong Salico. Nougat contains substance to chew, and it complies with the meaning of fortitude. In Taiwanese society, buffalo means scholarly honor or official rank, and drawing some ox hair can help increase wisdom and succeed in career. Therefore, Dahesong Salico selects Taiwanese buffalo as the guarding treasure, not only to carry forward the culture of Taiwanese people, but also to work hard for promote the traditional characteristics of Taiwan.
The Taiwanese buffalo outside of the Nougat Museum is the world's biggest stone carving buffalo (about 15000kg). It implies Dahesong Salico's idea ˇ§never forgetting where happiness starts and making the world betterˇ¨. Mr. Jhang Ming-Jhih, a famous carving artist, was invited to create the artwork. To express the spirit and verve of Taiwanese buffalo, it took more than two years to find a proper stone in Hualien and over one hundred days of hard work to create it. Dahesong Salico hopes the guarding treasure buffalo can bring wisdom and luck to everybody.
