Kid, do you understand what I said?

Q:Grandfather, one book writes : "Farmers put loaches into water caltrop fields", why?

A: Because people in the past are poorer, it is too pity that a field only plants water caltrop, so we raise some loaches and fishes in the pond to sell for money!

 

Q:Have you heard any by-product of water caltrop?

A: There are a lots, for examples: Ling-Jiao pork ribs, Ling-Jiao sparerib, Ling-Jiao gruel, Ling-Jiao rice pudding, Ling-Jiao crisp etc.. What I like most is Ling-Jiao sparerib.

In fact, raw water caltrop which is just picked is as sweet and delicious as a pear. In the past, we ate water caltrop as a meal while we were picking them.
