Nan-Fang-Ao Port is situated inside the Su-Ao Bay southeast
of Su-Ao Township. It used to be the most densely populated
area in the country apparently due to an abundance of fishes.
The prosperous sight of the port serves as an important base
for Taiwan coast, and deep-sea vessels. It is one of the three
major fishery areas in Taiwan. There are three fish markets
that vary in function and feature. Nan-Fang-Ao Port is
surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the west is in
close vicinity to Su-Ao Port. There are versatile types of
fish shoals particularly the Mackerel, thus, it is also known
as ¡§Mackerel's Hometown¡¨.
