Without the cultivation of a hunting culture, the tribe’s people will
lose their precious knowledge of nature and the mountaineering skills. They
will be unable to survive difficulties and harsh environments. Therefore, the
hunting lifestyle and customs that enable people to live actively in nature
still survive under erosion of changes through time. In addition, it still
influences the social norms and customs of the tribe’s people. However, under
the erosion of biased policies and the bigger environment, this special “cultural
heritage” cannot escape the fate of fading and changing. It is an undeniable fact.

Therefore, in promoting the tribal culture in the future, we have to
educate our people about “hunting culture.” In addition, we have to accurately discuss
its concepts. Further, we appeal to the society to pay more attention to our
cultural heritage and its significance in modern times. As the tribe’s people
hunting should be respected, the government should amend the Laws for the
Conservation of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora and the National
Park Law to stipulate Guidelines for Tribal Resources Management, with the idea
of delimiting the traditional game field. Further, it should re-examine the management
system of the mountainous areas and ecological preservation works. Utilizing
the aboriginal people’s talents, it is able to consolidate the ecological
preservation works in Taiwan. In fact, the government should handle these
urgent tasks immediately.
