The society, everyday life, and activities of the Taroke people are
closely connected with nature. In addition, they are friends with the animals
as well. Therefore, they have intimate relations with the woods and nature in
their lifestyles, social norms, and taboos. The tribe’s people highly value the
custom of hunting. They are one of the aboriginal tribes in Taiwan that love
hunting, so that their social norms are deeply influenced by it. Likewise, for
generations, their people have abided by the “hunting culture,” which respects
both people and nature.
