Our society has had increasing unrest and we are subject to mounting risks of larceny in the wake of the toughening economy in recent years. We all consider it necessary to do something to bring added safety and security to our communities. Thanks to the exceptional efforts by those enthusiasts, the Preparatory Committee was started in late 2004. The preparatory efforts notably include soliciting security guards, enactment of annual protocols, raising working capital, organizing the lineups and deployment, purchasing equipment and facilities concerned and launching training programs. The Yung-an Community Patrol Team officially came into being in January 2005 to safeguard nine communities together. Upon patrolling, the security guards must sign at six patrol sign-in stops. Regularly, the security guards patrol starting from 11:00 p.m. till 3:00 a.m. of the ensuing morning. At the moment, five security guard corps are patrolling on two shifts everyday.

We must try by all means to safeguard safety and security. That is the inherent duties of not only the County Government or police, but of all community people as well. Now, other than the efforts to safeguard safety and security, Yung-an Community Patrol Team is trying hard to bring up added welfare to the community people. With the least possible human resources, we have successfully minimized crimes. Thanks to the exceptional efforts by the Yung-an Community Patrol Team, the entire Yung-an Community has become a model community with admirable safety, security and welfare.
