Summary of Our Project¡G

¡@¡@ The Chinese Culture is abundant and meticulous. Its history is long and systematic. Its literature, music and arts all show varied national styles and represent the spirits of varied periods of time and most importantly the prime beauty of the Chinese culture.

¡@¡@¡@Now, many traditional arts are gradually been forgotten and even lost. On this topic, we are going to make a research on the diminishing ¡§Chinese miniature carving art¡¨ and ¡§brick carving art¡¨ in the hope that our effort may give a push on the passing-on of the culture.

Problems We Had to Overcome¡G

1.
Data Assortment: Our local leader, Mr. Chen Forng-Shean who engaged in micro-carving for more than 25 years. The general Public¡¦s confirmation intensified Chen¡¦s position and his lasting faith in micro-carving and brick-carving. Medias that interviewed Mr. Chen had made intensive reports. How to classify those quantity of data is our first problem.
Solution: There are five categories of micro-carving, and also five categories of brick-carving. We soredt out our resources into those categories first, then type and scan them into our computer.

2.
Interviews: Interview is an important topic of our project because Mr. Chen is famous for his creations. Exhibition halls, media, and the public are subjects of our interviews. For the time is limited, how to complete those interviews in our limited time is also a problem.
Solution: We make a list of our subjects and draft a questionnaire before our interviews. Our team members work together on a project but doing different things at the same time. So that we complete our missions efficiently in our limited time.

3.
Technologies & Software: There are many software in our computer classroom. But we also need more software to construct our website. Skillful technologies are needed for making our project perfectly. Copyright is another problem for us.
Solution: We download shareware from the internet. And we consulted with our teachers and reference books for our insufficient technologies. So we spent much time in order to construct a perfect website.

Our Project Sound Bite¡G

¡@¡@ It's the first time that we join the International Schools CyberFair contest. It is a special experience which we could not learn in our school. For the past 7 months, we engaged in micro-carving and brick-carving. We have learned lots of valuable knowledge by doing this project. Meanwhile, we made a great progress in our computer skills.

¡@¡@ United is an important factor in a group, and it inspired us to worke harder in our daily life. The most important thing is that we make our best effort to give a push on the passing-on of our Chinese culture.
