PersonnelDirector Si, Autie Jin and ten students

Process

First we go to the audio-visual classroom for Director Si to give us a lecture on how to collect leaves and rubbing. The tools for collecting include scissors, old telephone notebook, note paper, and pocketbook. The process is to cut 10~15cm opening with scissors, then put the plant into the telephone pad(fix the plant in certain position, or else the plant will not be easy to use in the process of rubbing). The plants we collect include Ficus microcarpa “Golden Leaves”Calocedrus formosana (one of the five conifer trees), Botel Tobago Cinnamon TreePistacia chinensis, etc. We have two kinds of rubbings. One is using inkpad, and the other is printing ink. The other materials for rubbing include platen, cotton paper, forceps, and leaves of plants. First put the leave on the printing pad or printing ink, and use the platen to roll over it, and press it on the cotton paper. It is done when the process is finished!

Pay attention: Collect old leaves and use the back of leaves for rubbing, because the nervure of the back of leaves is clearer and the nervure of old leaves is darker!

Process

First Director Si will explain to us that about 15 cm length of stem and leaves should be cut off when collecting plants, then tell us that we should draw the picture when observing the plant, so as to draw it well; Then we should go to the campus to collect the plant. When we find a special species of Taiwan, we will cut some leaves off that plant, put the leave into the right shape, and press it into the telephone pad.
